Exhibition: Malaysia International Islamic Book Expo 2014 in conjunction with Putrajaya International Islamic Arts & Culture Festival (PIIACUF). October 30th through November 9th 2014.
The exhibition was officially opened by a senior official from the Department of Islamic Development in Malaysia. The exhibition included local as well as international exhibitors from countries such as Singapore, China, Turkey, Morocco, Indonesia, Brunei, etc.
The organizers of this exhibition were Sinergi Ilmu Malaysia with whom IQRA’ ASIA has been collaborating to make IQRA’ International Educational Foundation (IIEF) publications more accessible in Malaysia. Since Aug. 2014, IQRA’ ASIA’s customers in Malaysia do not have to bear freight charges from Singapore for their orders as Sinergi Ilmu has been providing temporary storage and distribution services to IQRA’ ASIA.
IQRA’ ASIA received some media exposure for the first time since our venture into the Malaysian market. IQRA’ ASIA was invited by Sinergi Ilmu to showcase some of our IIEF’s publications during a TV interview on a popular program Selamat Pagi 1Malaysia (Good Morning One Malaysia). IQRA’ ASIA was represented by Ustazah Nurkhadijah Ramli, one of the three key members of the IQRA’ ASIA team.
This was IQRA’ ASIA’s sixth year participation in a book fair in Malaysia and by now we have a pool of regular customers who faithfully visit our booth once they are informed of our participation through various social media. (below left)
At the same time, we were pleased to make new contacts. These sisters are working with one of the convert associations in Malaysia. (above right) One of the sisters is running an Islamic Camp in English and will be using IQRA’ publications to develop their activities for the camp.
